We are trying for a baby. How can Reflexology help?
Fertility reflexology is a gentle and non-invasive therapy that while being very relaxing, is effective in stimulating points on the feet that correspond to your nervous and reproductive system.
Reflexology can treat any stage of the conception journey, from pre-conception right through to assisted conception. In the three to four months prior to planned conception, we focus on preparing our clients for healthy egg and sperm production and establishing the optimal hormonal balance for conception and pregnancy.
Fertility reflexology is effective as an independent treatment or alongside medicated/assisted cycles. Click here to read about treatment to support women through their assisted conception journey.
Why should I have fertility treatment at the nmf clinic?
At the nmf clinic, we specialise in reflexology treatments to address maternity and fertility issues. We are trained by midwives to provide focused, supportive care at every stage of a pregnancy, beginning well before conception and continuing through the post natal months to restore a natural hormonal balance.
Fertility Reflexology can assist couples who would like support with:
- Natural conception
- Assisted conception – IUI,IVF & ICSI cycles
- Menstrual cycle/hormonal imbalance
- Endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS
- Reduced PMS & PMT symptoms
- Sperm quality and quantity
- Stress related problems
- General health and wellbeing
We understand that getting pregnant can be very stressful and expensive, with private medicine only being available to those that have the means to afford it. With potentially 1 in 3 couples experiencing difficulties in conceiving, reflexology can enhance fertility in a natural and non-invasive way.
Our aim is to provide a dedicated fertility service tailored to an individual’s needs, delivered in a professional and caring manner, in a relaxed and friendly environment. We aim to make every patient at nmf clinic feel a deep sense of satisfaction at the quality and personal care they receive.
How does reflexology work alongside my GP/consultant’s treatment?
We have many clients that undergo fertility treatment with conventional medical practitioners. We work in ways to enhance their therapies and boost the chances of success using the body’s own mechanisms.
At the nmf clinic, we are devoted to the treatment of pre-conceptual care, infertility, and pregnancy by using complementary medicine and other beneficial techniques. This means you can safely enjoy your reflexology treatment alongside any conventional medical treatment.
Fertility reflexology can be used as a stand-alone treatment to enhance natural fertility or with conventional treatments, such as Clomid, with fully medicated cycles of IUI, IVF, ICSI as well as with donor eggs or sperm.
What can I expect during my treatment?
Each client is a unique individual with their own personal history, so treatment plans are tailored to your individual needs based on the information you provide.
At your first appointment, we will take a detailed medical history, including information on any mainstream fertility treatment being undertaken, together with details of your diet and lifestyle.
Based on this initial consultation, we will offer you (both, if that’s appropriate) a course of weekly reflexology treatments that will be focused on stimulating or relaxing your body as required. We will also provide further advice on nutrition and nutritional supplements, hormonal testing and timing strategies for successful conception.
Your first treatment can also be provided immediately following the initial consultation, subject to your medical history and preference. Please discuss this with us when booking your appointment.
Reflexology for Natural Conception - If you are trying to get pregnant naturally, it is recommended that you receive weekly treatments for three to four months in order to balance all of your body systems. Treatments encourage you to experience deep relaxation, which effectively leads to a reduction in stress hormones. With a reduction in stress and specific changes in lifestyle and diet it is possible to improve hormone levels and the quality of the eggs and sperm being produced.
Receiving regular Fertility Reflexology treatments is a great way to help you stay positive and calm, providing emotional support through each stage of your conception journey. Treatments help to relieve tension, stress, anxiety and balance all of the body systems ensuring the best possible start for a pregnancy.
Each client is a unique individual with their own personal history, so treatment plans are tailored to your individual needs based on the information you provide.
Reflexology for Assisted Conception – IUI, IVF, ICSI as well as with donor eggs or sperm.
Liat D’Elia has trained with leading midwifery and reflexology experts. This means Liat understands the details of assisted conception treatments and uses specialist reflexology techniques to ensure that she can fully support you through this very important time.
Rather than balancing the body during these treatments we will be working to enhance the efficacy of the drugs that you will be taking. It is recommended that you receive weekly treatments for up to 2/3 months after completing the assisted cycle in order to balance all of your body and reproductive system.
How long does fertility treatment take?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a successful conception for every potential parent visiting the nmf clinic. It’s our experience however, that certain factors are helpful in improving the effectiveness of fertility reflexology:
- Preparing yourself for conception. In the three to four months before planned/assisted conception, we recommend working with clients to support them in any dietary and lifestyle changes and to prepare their body for a healthy conception and pregnancy.
- It takes two. Fertility issues affect men and as well as women. We recommend both partners prepare for conception with healthy diet and lifestyle choices and regular fertility reflexology treatments.
We look forward to supporting you on your conception journey. Contact us to arrange an initial consultation & treatment.
